And just when you thought it couldn't get weirder than My Chemical Romance and The Used covering "Under Pressure," The Flaming Lips have recorded a rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" for an upcoming covers record.

Lead vocalist Wayne Coyne told NME.com that although the band were at first unsure, they ultimately decided to "take on the behemoth that is 'Bohemian Rhapsody.'"

According to the singer, The Lips' version will be a bit sadder, a bit more intense and will feature "a big operatic flourish in the middle," much like the original.

The Flaming Lips' follow-up to 2002's Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, At War With The Mystics is due out sometime in January 2006.
